The Ways of Wood: Intro to Herbalism and Woodblock Printmaking

SORRY, REGISTRATIOIN IS CURRENTLY FULL. WATCH FOR OTHER HERB/PRINTMAKING COLLABORATIONS COMING SOON!

Tuesday, February 28th, 2023

12:30-3:30pm * Fireweed Community Woodshop, S. MPLS

I will be joining with printmaking instructor Jessie Merriam for an exploration of oak as a tree, a remedy, and a muse. Students will spend time learning about the practice of harvesting wild plant material, focusing on oak bark, its processing and uses. After a tea break, students will then learn the process of woodblock printmaking by carving a design of an oak tree and printing it on different papers, including some pre-printed with information about the oak.

This course is beginner friendly. A short walk up the block from the shop to check out new growth on oak trees will be an option, weather permitting.
