Winter cold and flu (and Covid!) season is upon us! Be prepared for taking care of yourself and your loved ones through the dark and cold months.

In this class we will cover herbal remedies for an array of symptoms, including cough, fever, sore throat, congestion, and fatigue. We will also spend a fair bit of time talking prevention and general wellness support for the stress of Winter. Discussion will include both medicinal herbs that may be new to you and kitchen herbs you probably already have on hand. There will be a lot of opportunity for collaborative learning - we all have at least a few tricks up our sleeves!

Come ready for a warm and cozy night of sharing what works for you and sampling some remedies I’ve prepared. Everyone will be sent home with a new remedy of their choosing and will have a chance to purchase more if they like.

The ask for this class is $15-45 sliding scale.

Please reach out if you need a different arrangement!

This class is part of a series in collaboration with print-making artist Jessie Merriam, in which we look at a single plant from many angles. Just in time for cold and flu and Covid season, we'll be offering a class focused on the immune-boosting powerhouse Elderberry (Sambucas nigra/canadensis)!

Students will learn the history, botany, and lore of this plant, and hear common as well as the lesser-known uses for this powerful yet gentle remedy. We'll craft an elderberry tincture for students to take home, and carve our own elderberry-inspired block-prints using an image of Jessie's design.

A variety of paper will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring fabric/tote bags/clothing to print on if they like.

Additional elderberry remedies will be available for sale at the end of class.
