My friend and collaborator Jessie Merriam is on an unexpected medical leave, and so we're postponing for now. If able, please support Jessie to recover quicly and get back to her good work!

Herb and Print-Making Class

FUTURE DATE/TIME TBD

What do spaghetti lovers, vampire slayers, and seasonal cold sufferers all have in common? A love of garlic!

In this next class in a haer-and-print-making series with artist Jessie Merriam, I'll share what I know about the history, botany, and lore of garlic, and we'll discuss medicinal and culinary uses, and do some sampling. Then Jessie will lead us in creating our own woodblock prints honoring this delicious and powerful bulb. Participants will go home with their prints and some new ideas for how to integrate their winter wellness routine.

We'll have time while carving for more conversation about garlic's many virtues!

Saturday, August 30th, 2025 ~ Minneapolis, MN ~ 12:00-3:00pm

I'm grateful to have been invited to this collaboration with Community Members for Environmental Justice and happy to support CMEJ's rad work!

* 5:30-8:30pm * Fireweed Community Woodshop

Print-making artist Jessie Merriam and I continue our series of deep-dives into one single plant. We crowd-sourced the question of which plant to focus on next -

I'll share what I know about the history and botany of the plant, and we'll discuss medicinal and culinary uses, and do some sampling. Then Jessie will lead us in creating our own woodblock prints honoring this long-blooming beauty. Participants will go home with their prints and a tin of calendula flower salve!

We'll have time while carving for more conversation about this bright and helpful plant!
